A turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine has now replaced the standard V-6 engine of the 2022 Highlander. Toyota has designed it to generate 265 horsepower, that is transferred to the wheelbase through the eight-speed automatic transmission system. It has been designed to pair with either front- or all-wheel drive. In the hybrid model, Toyota has packaged this powertrain with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, collectively pumping out 243 horsepower, helping accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.
